National Anthem`s creates stir in Cricket Series Katherine Jenkins added a touch of glamour as the battle for Ashes began. The Welsh opera diva belted out her country's national anthem before England started battling against Australia. Her performance was followed by both the English and Australian National Anthems as well as the hymn Jerusalem. The musical confusion at the opening Ashes test was branded 'ridiculous' by traditionalists. Moreover, many are already annoyed about the match being the first Ashes Test to be played outside England or Australia.
