Dominguez Liste is not like most WAGs, meaning wives and girlfriends if you were lucky enough not to know until now, she is very humble and likes to stay out of the public eye not choosing to use the “fame” that being Fernando Torres’ soul mate could bring you. There are no perfumes, naughty pictures, tabloid appearances or even TV appearances. Olalla Dominguez Liste and Fernando Torres have been seeing each other since 2001 and after many love filled years they finally tied the knot on the 29th of May 2009 after they married in El Escorial town hall which is north of their home town, Madrid, the event was extremely private with media outlets completely banned from the romantic ceremony with only two guests which was conducted by a local priest. Olalla measures a medium 5’5” (165cm) meaning she’s completely dwarfed by her husband, Fernando Torres, who is a colossal 6’1” in comparison. She was born on the 1st of January 1985 making her 287 days younger than Torres who was born on the 20th March 1984. Olalla and Fernando announced in February 2009 that they expecting a baby together, which was later confirmed to be a perfectly healthy girl. Olalla Dominguez Liste finally gave birth to her beautiful baby daughter, who they later named Nora, on the 8th July 2009 at the Hospital La Rosaleda Compostelan, in Santiago de Compostela which has helped give birth to Madrid football stars such as Raul and Fernando Hierro.

While all eyes are typically on the pitch during a World Cup game, we all know that there’s usually one roving cameraman whose job it is to seek out the prettiest fangirl in the crowd so her face (or whatever’s most prominent) can be splashed onto screens around the globe in between moments of play. But if you want to see the lovely ladies who get to go home with soccer stars after the game, you’ve got to know who you’re looking for. Which is why I thought I’d introduce you to the beautiful women the members of the Italian squad call amore. I’m calling this the third in a series of posts on Italian WAGs I have running over at World Cup Blog sister site WhyGo Italy, but in honor of the World Cup I’m posting this installment here. And for those of you who are (like me) more interested in the boys in blue (or if you want more info about the guys these pretty ladies go home with), then I offer you my World Cup edition of the hottest Italian soccer players. And one final note – the Italian word “fidanzata” translates more or less to fiancée, but in practical usage the term covers the whole range from actual pre-marriage status to just a more long-term or exclusive girlfriend. I’ve used the word fiancée below whenever I saw “fidanzata” in the descriptions online, but in some cases you can kind of take that with a grain of salt. Now, without further ado…

Katherine Jenkins added a touch of glamour as the battle for Ashes began. The Welsh opera diva belted out her country's national anthem before England started battling against Australia. Her performance was followed by both the English and Australian National Anthems as well as the hymn Jerusalem. The musical confusion at the opening Ashes test was branded 'ridiculous' by traditionalists. Moreover, many are already annoyed about the match being the first Ashes Test to be played outside England or Australia.

Women boxers are set to pack a punch at the 2012 London Olympics with a crucial International Olympic Committee executive board vote to usher in the controversial sport. Meanwhile, Sarah Blewden (in pic), a female amateur boxer and model has been banned from competition because she has breast implants. The Brit had hopes to compete in the 2012 Olympics, but according to Amateur Boxing Association rules, no person is allowed to compete with implants - not even if they're only 32C.

German diver Pavlo Rozenberg made a splash for all the wrong reasons during the FINA World Championships in Rome. Rozenberg botched a dive after smacking his head off a board while competing in the men's three-metre springboard event. The incident occurred on the 13th day of the annual swimming championships and cost him a place in the top rankings. China's Cong He claimed the gold medal, with US diver Troy Dumais taking silver and Canada's Alexandre Despatie sealing bronze. (Courtesy:The Sun)
